Aécio Neves speech in Sirinhaém (PE), 12 October 2014

Today was a day very, very special that even my walk. He started in Recife, where I received the formal support of the PSB of Pernambuco, the most important and emblematic PSB from all over Brazil. The same PSB that had led, earlier this week, a decision: that the party took nationally in favor of my candidacy.

But today was not only a day of politics for me. Today was a day of many emotions, because I realized that the dream, the hope that Eduardo Campos brought to his people still alive in the soul, the heart of all Pernambuco.

I was then with Peter in his house, with Renata, and their brethren. And I realized very clearly that if I had, my dear mayor France, it had a huge responsibility before set foot in this sacred land of Pernambuco, leave here today with a many times greater responsibility.

Today, I am no longer the candidate of a political party or a coalition. With the support I receive from forces of good, the majority and the victorious forces of Pernambuco, who represent the best policy that is practiced in Brazil, I step to be, and I say at this moment, here Sirinhaém so that all of Brazil hear us , step to be the candidate of change. The seriousness and the transformations that Brazil needs to live and will live in the coming years.

I am the grandson of a political, as was Eduardo Arraes grandson. Tancredo Neves, my grandfather used to say that when you receive a visit, a politician, and listen to what he's telling you, Tancredo said, divert your gaze for a few seconds and start to see who are the people who are on your side . Who are the people who are lending their credibility, their life story, endorsing one who is with microphone in hand.

I'm very proud to be doing this today walk beside you, Governor Paul House - the most voted governor of Brazil. Beside him, mayor France, at his side Geraldo Julio, deputy Danilo. Beside him, the governor João Lyra, Senator Fernando Bezerra. Beside him, Pedro Campos, next to each one and each of you.

I came to change Brazil. We can not take much more and not accept lack of commitment to ethics and both lack of interest in making things better in Brazil. Will I be assured that the governor will not only keep the social programs such as scale them for the benefit of those most in need. The income transfer programs such as Bolsa Familia, is not a favor, a favor from a political party. Is a right of the population. And I will keep that right improving them, because I will make Brazil grow back, and growing, we will have possibilities to increase the adjustment, to increase employment and give a better life to so many and so many Brazilians.

Geraldo spoke earlier. "This campaign is scaring our opponents." Just watch when the president appears on television. The expression is of despair, here come the calumnies, offenses, the same who have suffered Marina and Eduardo. But have no doubt that every attack, every lie, every slander, replacing with my truth and with a new proposal to improve the lives of Brazilians.

Of course, if they win the elections, I will be the president of Brazil. But I will be especially remembered for being the best president for the Brazilian Northeast. It is the Northeast that need action and strong state hand. I come from a state, Minas Gerais, which has pride for our Northeast encrusted on its territory. When I finished my last year in office, my eighth year, had invested in the region three times more per citizen than in the wealthier regions of my state and that's what we will continue to do in Brazil.

My friends and my friends a fortnight. Exactly fifteen days separate us from the moment of the release of a government that, as I said, long ago ceased to have a transformative project for Brazil to be content to have and maintain solely a power project. But here's the real power in the hands of every worker, of every worker, of every good citizen, every housewife, who know that inflation can not be coming to disturb the lives of Brazilians.

And that's why I here today in Pernambuco made a point to reiterate each of the commitments that had already taken and others who pass to take. To regional development, with the best quality of health, to sustainable development, with the improvement and expansion of social programs such as education, for example, taking the proposed comprehensive school, Eduardo Campos, for all Brazilians.

It is indeed possible to put an end to this cycle of government to begin another virtuoso and generous. It's not fair that those who want to try at all costs to stay in power by dividing the Brazil between us and them, sharing our regions, creating enmity among Brazilians. No! I want to be the president of national integration, the reduction of differences and bringing the Brazilian around one development project.

We will only reduce the huge and shameful inequalities with which we still live in Brazil treating unequals unequally. This means more investment in the Northeast. More opportunity to generate income. More work and more development.

A final word to the men's field, from sugar cane, which is sustaining with their work and their sweat the development of this country. The PT government has disorganized the Brazilian sugar and alcohol sector. And one of my first commitments will uphold our it so that jobs return to be generated, the plants re-grind and working people back to have their guaranteed income and their dignity preserved.

Finally, one last word of a greater appreciation that my heart, in my heart can fit. The scenes I saw, mayor France, since I got here, the enthusiasm, the affection, the applause Paul Hall, the governor, Senator Fernando, the applause to Geraldo and all who accompanied us, including you, is a demonstration rare in today's time. But it is undoubtedly the recognition of the working people of Mata Sul. Those political leaders who when they take the mandate does not give up and do not forget their commitments to their people at the polls.

That's how I built my walk and that's how I will keep until the last day of the next term. from today, another election begins in Brazil. I said earlier and I repeat now.

The eyes of the country are put on this square, about our meeting. And this is where I say to Pernambuco, the Northeast and in particular more say to all Brazilians, at his side, Pedro, believe, trust, will elect me president because I will not give up Brazil.

Thank you and until victory. Viva Eduardo Campos and his memory!
